Asia’s leading tourism exhibition, OTM, taking place on 8-10 February 2024 at the Jio World exhibition center in Mumbai, will have a strong presentation of Greek tourism by travel agencies that are members of the HATTA and FedHATTA.

The OTM exhibition hosts more than 60 countries, and its exhibitors this year are expected to exceed 1,600, as the Indian market is very interested in destinations across the world.

FedHATTA has taken steady steps in recent years to strengthen business relations between Indian and Greek travel agents, emphasizing direct communication between tour operators and travel agents through online presentations, webinars and professional meetings, to build the reach of Greek travel agencies in the Indian market. As early as 2014, FedHATTA together with HATTA started regular Greek participation in Indian tourism exhibitions and signed a Cooperation Agreement with the two main associations of tourism professionals in India, OTOAI and TAFI, to ensure the increase of travel flow between the two countries.

India’s rapidly growing economy and the growing prosperity of its people raise the potential of its outbound tourism for global markets. In the last three years, Indian travelers made about 1.8 billion trips worldwide, which highlights the country as a particularly important market for global tourism. In 2022, Indian travelers made around 13 million trips to overseas destinations, which is expected to reach 80 million over the next 15 years.

The Greek participation in OTM was in collaboration with Gulf Air, which has direct air connections to and from India, and in partnership with HATTA and FedHATTA offered discounted fares for the Greek participants.
