The annual conference of Israeli Travel Agents is in full swing
The annual congress of Israeli Agents started with great success on 22 November, with the participation of 350 tour operators, travel agents and tourism professionals from Israel, which is being held in Greece on the invitation from FEDHATTA.

The official opening of the congress took place yesterday at the Acropolis Museum, with a gala dinner, sponsored by Aegean Airlines, with the honorary presence of the Minister of Tourism Elena Kountoura, Irit Ben Aba, Ambassador of Israel to Greece, George Tzialla, Secretary General of Tourism Policy and Development of the Ministry of Tourism, GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Tryfonopoulos and representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, GNTO, tourism bodies, and the regions of Greece.

The congress include presentations by GNTO, Greek destinations and Aegean Airlines. Specific presentations were made by Dimitris Tryfonopoulos, GNTO Secretary General, Dimitris Gerogiannis, CEO of Aegean Airlines, Margietta Papavasileiou, Deputy Regional Governor of South Aegean Tourism, Nikos Raptakis, Ext. Secretary of the Region of Crete, Alexis Galinos on behalf of the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau and Efi Koudeli on behalf of the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau.

This was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between FEDHATTA and the Israel Association of Travel Agencies and Consultants (ITTAA). In the Memorandum, the closer cooperation of the two Associations was agreed for the development of tourism flows between the two markets, as well as the mutual cooperation for the respect of the tourism legislation of the two countries (Law 393/76).

At the same time, in the exhibition area of the congress, the participants (Region of South Aegean, Region of Crete, Region of Attica, Municipality of Athens, Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, IMT Services, Visit Meteora.travel, Athens One Day Cruise, Athens Walking Tours, The Luxury Collection- Grande Bretagne Hotel, Porto Carras Grande Resort, Capsis Elite Resort- Out of the Blue and Divani Luxury Hotels), as well as Greek tourism agencies held B2B meetings with Israeli tourism professionals with the aim of developing partnerships.

The congress continued with a press conference for Greek and Israeli journalists, and following the meetings, participants will have the opportunity to explore Northern Greece and the region of Attica.
