The tourism agencies of Greece and Romania are ready to restart tourism
The president of HATTA, Nikolas Kelaïditis, represented the Greek tourism agencies in the delegation accompanying Minister of Tourism, Haris Theocharis, on his official visit to Bucharest, March 18 and 19. Mr. Kelaïditis met with organizations and agencies of the tourism sector, to give the emphatic message that Greece is ready to welcome travelers from the Balkans and the Mediterranean this summer.
Mr. Kelaïditis gave an interview to the Romanian television network Prima TV, addressing Romanian travelers in particular, and had a very interesting meeting and discussion with the president and vice-presidents of the corresponding Association of Tourism Agencies of Romania, ANAT, Dumitru Luca, Dan Goicea and Alin Burcea.
ANAT and HATTA have a long-standing close cooperation through ECTAA, the pan-European representative body of tourism agencies, in which both Associations are active members. As confirmed by this meeting, Greece remains a favorite destination for Romanian travelers, who are ready to travel. Especially after Minister of Tourism Haris Theoharis assumed responsibility for the health and safety measures, the road to restarting the travel flow from the neighboring country seems to be open.
Nikos Kelaïditis said: “Our Ambassador in Bucharest, Sofia Grammata, and Giorgos Staphylakis, Director of the GNTO office in Romania, who had prepared for our delegation, gave us a very warm welcome. All parties are anxious for the restart of tourism in the summer of 2021, and it is of great importance that we take measures to properly implement the regulations necessitated by current circumstances. The tourism relations between Greece and Romania are excellent, and tourism professionals, both in Romania and in our country, can guarantee that we will proceed steadily, carefully and professionally in the post-Covid era.”
In addition to the Minister of Tourism, Haris Theoharis, and the President of HATTA, Nikos Kelaïditis, the Greek delegation also included by Grigoris Tasios, President of the Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers.
