Thessaly hosted members ECTAA members and gave them fond memories
Thessaly revealed its potential as a tourist destination to the ECTAA members, who were in Greece to hold the semiannual meeting on November 23-25, in Thessaloniki. Following the meeting, they continued their journey to get to know Meteora and the villages of Southern Pelion.
The trip to Thessaly for the European tour operators and travel agents, members of the European tourism associations, started with a tour of Kalambaka and Meteora, and continued to Volos and the villages of southern Pelion, where the guests had the opportunity to meet Greek tradition in all its aspects: in the gastronomy, in the landscape, but also in the attractions of the area.
During their stay in Volos, the visitors had the opportunity to attend a presentation of the Region of Thessaly, and Nikos Mangitsis, the accomplished mountaineer, gave an interesting talk about the Mountain of the Centaurs.
The organization of the familiarization trip was an initiative of HATTA, FedHATTA, the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Konstantinos Agorastos and the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism, Ioannis Butinas, while the Regional Development Fund of Thessaly, the Chamber of Magnesia, the Chamber of Trikala and the Municipality of Southern Pelion supported it with their valuable help. The presentation of the Region of Thessaly was prepared by the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism, Ioannis Butinas, and presented by the president of the Tourism Department of the Chamber of Magnesia, Thekla Kammenou.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Christos Triandopoulos, the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Ioannis Butinas, the President of ECTAA, Frank Oostdam, the Treasurer of ECTAA, Marios Kammenos, the President of FedHatta Lysandros Tsilidis, the President of Hatta, Nikolaos Kelaiditis, members of ECTAA & HATTA, the Deputy Regional Director for European Programs, Employment & Trade, Athanasios Moras, the President of the Chamber of Magnesia, Aristotelis Basdanis, the President of the Tourism Department of the Chamber of Magnesia, Thekla Kammenou, the Deputy Mayor of Southern Pelion, Dimitrios Ramatas, Mr. Athanassios Spyrou and Ms. Evangelia Arvanitaki from the Association of Rooms for Rent of Magnesia and the Vice-President of the Association of Hoteliers of Magnesia, Giorgos Botsivalis.
