FedHATTA and HATTA participated in the 38th Philoxenia International Tourism Exhibition, which took place on November 10-12, 2023 at the Helexpo international exhibition and conference center in Thessaloniki.

This year, the stand hosted the Association of Tourist Offices of Macedonia-Thrace, a FedHATTA member, as well as Panasoft, which offers software solutions for tourism offices to take advantage of the digital age.

The stand was a lively meeting and information point for tourism professionals from all over Greece, as well as agencies, representatives of the State and partners.

Agency and partner awards

On Saturday, November 11, FedHATTA and HATTA, recognizing the work of their partners in the promotion of Greek tourism and the implementation of promotion actions and programs, awarded honors, in a simple event at their stand.

In particular, an honorary distinction was awarded to GNTO for the initiatives undertaken by GNTO in the last year, promoting Greece in all European markets. The distinction was received by the President of the Organization, Angela Gerekou.

An honorable mention was also awarded to Aegean Airlines for its “I’ve Been Going” advertising campaign, which boosted Greek travel. The distinction was received by the Regional Sales Manager for North Greece, Ionian Islands & Balkans of Aegean, Irini Sidiropoulou.

The Tourism Promotion and Marketing Organization of Thessaloniki was awarded an honorary distinction for its work in the promotion of the destination. The award was received by the President of the Organization, Paraskevi Patoulidou.

Honorary distinction was also awarded to the Organization for the Management and Development of Cultural Resources (ODAP), for its work and for its impeccable cooperation with travel agents, in making visits to our cultural monuments more functional. The distinction was received by the Head of the Autonomous Department of Monitoring and Development of Resources and the Directorate of Cultural Productions, Sales and Promotion of ODAP, Angeliki Maragakis.

The President of the FedHATTA, Lysandros Tsilidis, said: “The honors are of a symbolic nature, but they express the appreciation of the entire sector of tourism offices for projects carried out, for initiatives that brought Greece to higher positions in the choices of travelers internationally, and they highlight our close cooperation with these bodies, which is very important for us.”

As the President of HATTA, Nikolas Kelaiditis, stated, “We are happy to have good cooperation with our agencies and partners, because it is the only way to move forward constructively. The honors convey warm thanks from the entire industry.”

Products and Services for the tourism industry

On Friday, November 10, a complete package of banking products & services of the National Bank of Greece was presented at the Open Stage 14 of the Philoxenia exhibition, which was designed and created together with the FedHATTA to cover the special banking needs of its members.

The resulting package is a broad framework of modern banking products & services, financial programs & digital tools, which is offered on preferential terms to the members of FedHATTA. Professional banking advisors will assist members in the selection of services, covering daily transactional needs, enhancement of liquidity, as well as financing for the development plans of each company.

The Bank’s framework and strategy for strengthening the travel agency industry were presented by the Head of Business Banking & Key Account Segments of the National Bank of Greece, Konstantinos Kanavos, and the features and benefits of the package by the Head of the Business Customer Sector Banking, Nikolaos Karlovic.

The sponsor of the dynamic presence of FedHATTA and HATTA at the exhibition was the National Bank of Greece.
