The Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Congress, the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the local Municipal People’s Government, the Chengdu Municipal Port and the Bureau of Logistics visited Greece to meet with the Ministry of Tourism and FedHATTA.

The delegation was headed by Xie Ruiwu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Congress. The aim of the delegation’s visit was to explore and strengthen the ties between Chengdu and Greece, through tourism, shipping, and developing cultural exchanges. The discussion that took place at the Ministry of Tourism on September 26 also focused on these issues.

Lysandros Tsilidis, President of FedHATTA, referred to the impressive cultural legacy that travellers encounter in China, Iran, Egypt, and Greece, through historical monuments and archaeological finds. And how this cultural legacy is a major draw for visitors interested in exploring ancient civilizations and culture.

Specifically, he proposed to create mixed tourism packages involving the regions of China that FedHATTA has met and developed closer relations with. In closing, he invited the members of the delegation to travel in Greece as visitors, to get a personal experience of Greek destinations with high historical and cultural interest.
