FedHATTA hosted a meeting to develop tourism between Greece and Uzbekistan today. The participants were the Consul General of Uzbekistan, Olim Kasimov, the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Director of the Department of Analysis & Coordination of Tourism Development of Uzbekistan, Abdoulaziz Akkulov, the President of the Greek-Eurasian Association, Xenophon Lambrakis, and Lysandros Tsilidis, president of FedHATTA.

During the meeting, proposals were discussed as well as initiatives undertaken by both sides to facilitate travel between the two countries.

The representatives of Uzbekistan informed Mr. Tsilidis that from February 2017, Greek travelers can obtain an electronic visa within 2 days at the consular offices of Uzbekistan in Greece, without the need for an invitation.

At the same time, ways to increase visitors to our country from Uzbekistan were considered. Especially since the Greek consular authorities apply the VISA CENTER procedure for faster service to Uzbek travelers.

In the context of the development of tourism between the two countries, on Friday, May 11, the Consulate of Uzbekistan, the Asian Art Museum of Corfu and the Greek-Eurasian Association will open the international exhibition “The Art of Central Asian Nomads” in Corfu, and will also present the new permanent exhibition of the Sargetakis collection “The Art of Carpets and Textiles of Uzbekistan.”
